Inspire Education Association (IEA) organized a two-day study tour to Shenzhen and Huizhou for the Department of Science and Environmental Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong on May 10 and 11, 2024.

On the first day, the team visited the Shenzhen Domestic Waste Classification Science Education Museum, where they learned about the historical evolution and latest technologies in urban waste management. In the afternoon, they visited 301 (Shenzhen) Biological Environmental Protection Company Limited and China Construction Science and Industry Group Green Technology Company Limited, gaining insights into the practical applications of bioprotection and green building technologies.

The second day featured a sustainable pearl seminar held at the Huidong Xunliao Pearl Farm Resort Hotel in Huizhou. Industry experts were invited to share environmentally protection concepts and the latest techniques in pearl farming. In the afternoon, the team participated in hands-on workshops at the pearl cultivation farm, experiencing the entire pearl cultivation process firsthand.

This study tour provided teachers and students with deeper understanding of the latest developments in environmental protection, renewable energy, and green architecture and constructures in the Shenzhen-Huizhou region, laying a solid foundation for their future learning and research.
