The “Facing Bullying, Embracing LOVE” Mascot Design Competition 2024 culminated in a grand reveal of the winning designs at the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong (ACGHK) 2024. The winning mascots were not only announced but also brought to life and showcased at the fair’s booths.
The Inspire Education Association extended an invitation to the victorious primary and secondary school students to attend the ACGHK on July 27th. Here, they were given the opportunity to share their creative journey and express their joy of triumph during a live interview at the SME Lab booth.
The first to grace the interview stage was the champion of the primary school group, “Surfa 網浪仔”. This charming character was the brainchild of Jake Ng, Yu Pak Hei, and Leung Ka Ho from the Fukien Secondary School Affiliated School. Their creation serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness and mutual support, both in the physical world and the digital realm. Through their mascot, they aspire to heighten public consciousness about the pressing issue of cyberbullying.
The secondary school group was led to victory by “棉仔”, designed by Wen Heung Ching and Tam Man Tan from CCC Kei Yuen College. The mascot “棉仔” exudes warmth with its friendly smile and open arms, symbolizing acceptance, and unconditional inclusion. It aims to instil confidence and provide support to victims to confront bullying incidents courageously. The creators hope that their mascot will inspire young individuals to foster positive values and enhance their empathy towards others.
With the collective efforts of all our participants, we are confident to promote a school environment that is more harmonious and brimming with love and care.
